Each team has 3 players, ideally 1 defender and 2 net players.
Number of players present
6 players
Two teams of 3 play directly. No bench.
7 or 8 players
Two teams of 3 play. 1–2 players stay on the bench and come in after a team loses. The substitution is done manually: it is decided which player from the losing team goes out and which player from the bench comes in.
9 players
Three teams of 3. Two teams play, while one waits. The winning team stays on the court, the losing team comes off, and the waiting team comes in.
Winner stays on
The winning team stays on the court for the next match. The losing team gives up its place to the bench team or the team that was waiting.
Team that waits first (9 players)
With 9 players, the team that takes the first break is determined in this order:
Players with the fewest total wins
If tied: players with the fewest matches played
If still tied: players with the lowest rating
If the tie still remains: randomly
The goal is to provide better rotation for less experienced players or those with fewer successful results.
Team generation
Teams are generated automatically by the app, taking into account:
each player's rating, to form teams that are as balanced as possible
preferred position (defender or net player)
variation — so the same combinations do not repeat all the time
Rating
Each player has a rating between 1–99. The rating is updated after each game night:
80% of the influence comes from match results
20% of the influence comes from teammate votes
The typical variation after one evening is between −5 and +5 from results and between −2 and +2 from votes. There are no drastic changes after a single evening.
Teammate votes
Only teammates from that evening can be voted for
Voting is anonymous and optional
You cannot vote for yourself
Only one vote can be given to each teammate, once per evening
Votes are given as scores from 1 to 10
Night awards
At the end of each game night, three awards are given:
? MVP
The player with the most match wins on that particular evening. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker is the average of votes received, then all-time statistics.
⭐ Team Best Player (TBP)
One award per team — the player on the team with the highest average of votes received from teammates on that particular evening. It reflects the teammates’ subjective perception.
? King of the Bench
The player who spent the most matches on the bench on that particular evening. It is awarded only on nights with 7 or 8 players (when there is a bench). In the event of a tie, the player with the lower average vote and fewer all-time wins gets it — the award belongs to the one who had the toughest evening.
Tracked statistics
Current rating — estimated playing level, between 1 and 100.
Wins — total number of matches won.
Matches played — total number of matches played.
Win rate — percentage of matches won out of the total.
Bench appearances — number of matches spent on the bench (not on the court).
Entering and editing results
Any authenticated player can enter a result
A result can be edited only by the person who created it or by an admin
Once a game night is closed, it can only be modified by an admin
Attendance
Attendance is confirmed through the app. Players receive a push notification when a new game night is scheduled and can quickly confirm whether they are coming. The admin can still adjust attendance from the game-night screen when late changes happen.
Roles
Player — can view rankings and statistics, can enter their own results, can edit their own results, and can vote for their teammates
Admin — can create and close game nights, can correct any result, can manage players and accounts, and can recalculate ratings
Game rules
A team loses a point if a player touches the net with any part of the body. The serve is replayed if the net is touched simultaneously by both opponents.
If an unclear situation occurs (for example: out, double touch, etc.) and the two teams cannot reach an agreement, the point is replayed.
If two opposing players touch the ball above the net at the same time and the ball goes out of bounds, the serve is replayed.
If two players touch the ball above the net at the same time, play continues provided that the ball lands inside the court.
A team loses a point if the ball bounces on its own side of the court and crosses the net into the opponent’s side without being touched by a player.
When there are only 2 teams, the court is switched every 2 matches.
When there are 3 teams, the winning team chooses the court for the next match, but cannot choose the same court four times in a row.
